Terms

The price, and how to stop.

Betsy’s terms, in plain words. They’re between you and PM Frontier LLC, which does business as Betsy. We say Mom here. If it’s Dad or Nana, read it that way.

$2 a day.

Billed $60 a month, starting on day eight. It renews by itself every month until you stop it.

To stop, call 1-855-HI-BETSY and say stop. The rest of that month comes back to you.

Today: Betsy is taking families a few at a time, so not everyone can sign up yet. These terms apply from the day you put a card on file.

What you get

Betsy calls Mom every day, at the hour she picks, for about ten minutes. Mom can call Betsy whenever she likes. Betsy is a computer voice, not a person. There’s no device, no setup fee and no minimum.

Day eight

You put a card on file before Mom’s first call. Nothing is charged yet.

The first week starts with her first call. On day eight, we charge your card $60.

If the first week doesn’t make her day, call and say stop before day eight, and you pay nothing. If she never has a first call, you pay nothing.

It renews every month

After day eight, we charge your card $60 on the same date every month. It keeps renewing by itself, with no end date, until you stop it.

If a state makes us collect sales tax, we add it and show it before you pay.

Once a year, we remind you what you’re paying and how to stop. If the price ever changes, we tell you 7 to 30 days ahead, with how to stop.

How to stop

Call 1-855-HI-BETSY (1-855-442-3879), any hour, and say stop.

Betsy says it back before you hang up. There’s no person to get past, no script and no “are you sure.” Mom can also say stop on any call, and you’ll hear only that it stopped. Either way, the calls stop and the billing stops.

You can write to hello@hibetsy.com instead. The phone is quicker.

Refunds

The rest of that month comes back to you.

We work out the part of the month you didn’t use and send that back to your card, without your asking. Your bank may take a few days to show it.

What Betsy isn’t

  • A person. She’s a computer voice, and she says so.
  • A nurse or a doctor. She doesn’t give medical advice.
  • A crisis line or an emergency service. She can’t call 911, your family or anyone else for anyone. In an emergency, call 911. In a crisis, call or text 988.
  • Someone keeping watch. She knows only what she’s told, and she can mishear or get things wrong. If Mom doesn’t pick up, nobody is sent and no alarm goes off.
  • Perfect. She runs on phones and computers, and they fail. She may miss a day.

Who Betsy calls

Betsy never calls cold. She calls someone who said yes herself, or someone whose child confirmed she’s okay with it and told her to expect the call. If you ask Betsy to call Mom, you’re telling us that’s true, and we keep a record of who said so and when.

Mom’s calls are hers. Paying for Betsy doesn’t let you hear them. What reaches you is on the privacy page.

You need to be an adult to sign up, and Betsy calls US numbers only. We can limit calls, or rest a number for a day, if someone is abusing the line.

Texts

Betsy only texts you if you said yes on a call. That yes is separate from these terms, and you never have to give it to buy Betsy. How she asks is here. Texts aren’t on yet.

  • What she sends. What you set up, a link for your card, a note when it’s first charged or the calls stop, a yearly reminder, her number, word that cards are on their way, the Sunday line and anything she passes on. Never advertising.
  • How often. Message frequency varies. A family gets about one a week, and more if something comes up. Anyone else gets only what they asked for.
  • What it costs. Message and data rates may apply.
  • To stop. Reply STOP to stop all texts from 1-855-442-3879. That doesn’t stop her calls or your billing. To stop those, call and say stop.
  • For help. Reply HELP, or call 1-855-442-3879.
  • To start again. Reply START or UNSTOP.
  • Carriers aren’t liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

If these change

We post new terms here with a new date. If a change touches the price or how to stop, we tell you first.
