What Betsy keeps.

In about 300 plain words.

What she keeps

Betsy asks first:

“I keep a recording of our calls, so I can remember what you tell me. Is that all right with you?”

Say yes, and she keeps the recording and what she learns. On 1-855-HI-BETSY, nothing from before your answer is kept. Say no, and she keeps only your name, your number and a line about the call and who sent you.

If you set someone up, we keep what you tell us about her, and who said yes. Your card goes to our payment company, never to Betsy.

Who can hear it

Today, the people building Betsy can play any call. You can’t play yours back yet. Companies that carry the call, turn speech into words, write her replies, make her voice and store recordings handle what’s said so she can answer. For each call to 1-855-HI-BETSY, a one-line note goes to our team chat: how long it was, the last four digits of the number and a sentence a computer writes on what kind of call it was, made to leave out names and your words. If a call needs a look, the note says so.

What reaches a family

Betsy passes on three things, only for a member, and she says so: a fall, an injury or an illness she mentions, including talk of hurting herself; somebody after her money; anything she asks Betsy to pass along. On Sundays, one line about her week and only a story she okayed. Paying doesn’t let anyone hear her calls. Today none of this goes out, because texts aren’t on.

What we never do

We never sell anything about her, or about you.

No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.

That includes your yes to a text.

How to delete it

We keep calls while you’re a member or a caller, with no set end date yet. To delete yours, call 1-855-HI-BETSY from the same phone and ask her, or write to hello@hibetsy.com. Today a person does it by hand, within 30 days, backups included. After that we keep only billing records, and who said yes or stop.

This website, and children

hibetsy.com has no ads or trackers, just Google’s fonts and its host’s ordinary logs.

Betsy is for grown-ups. If a child’s call gets kept, tell us and we’ll delete it.
